Take Two Studios has recently announced that BioShock 4 will be released some time next year. Aside from that, they also brought BioShock in Sony PlayStation Now, together with a good number of popular titles from 2K Games.
At the New York based MKM Partners Investors Day earlier this month, Take Two Interactive's CEO, Strauss Zelnick, has confirmed the arrival of BioShock 4, which is scheduled for a holiday 2016 release, reported Movie Pilot. Just like the hit GTA game series, BioShock is a permanent franchise which won't get annual releases unlike other game titles.
Zelnick was quoted saying, "The franchise is in the hands of 2K. They'll make announcements in due time about any upcoming releases. But BioShock is unquestionably a permanent franchise for our company and one that we do believe in."
Fans of the game series thought that it's the end of BioShock when its developer, Irrational Games, shut down last year. Together with a handful of employees, Irrational Games' Creative Director and co-founder, Ken Levine, moved on to a smaller studio, and went on to concentrate with narrative-driven, digital only games. The intellectual property rights were then handed to 2K Games, who bought Irrational Games back in 2006.
Aside from BioShock 4's 2016 release, fans of the game series can enjoy playing BioShock and other popular titles now from 2K Games for free. Sony is offering this seven-day free trial service to Sony PlayStation Now subscribers, reported Game Rant. In order to have access to BioShock, Borderlands, and other game titles, the subscriber should have a reliable internet connection to take part in the free trial period.
As of press time, PlayStation Now has more than 250 PlayStation games in its library. A month ago, Sony added more than 250 titles to its roster of games, including Street Fighter and Resident Evil franchises, noted Oceanside Post. Gamers should also look forward to further announcement of other titles to be added in PlayStation Now.
BioShock is a great addition to the current lineup of PlayStation games, as it offers countless hours of enjoyable game experience to its fans. Aside from appearing in PlayStation Now, BioShock is also available in other platforms such as PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Windows PC.
