Deltek announced today its acquisition of the Austin-based project management solutions provider Acumen.
Acumen is popular among a number of the world's largest construction & engineering, aerospace & defense as well as energy firms for its ability to deliver multi-million dollar programs on budget and on time. The solutions it presents aid project managers to build a reliable plan given the true nature of their business. Further, it empowers them to efficiently consider all inevitable risks and other variables that could happen.
"We are thrilled to become part of Deltek and to take the next step in the Acumen journey," said Dr. Dan Patterson, CEO and President of Acumen.
"In Deltek, we have found a fantastic partner that shares our goal of propelling project-based businesses to new heights of financial performance," Patterson said. "Key to achieving that is making sure that projects are built upon a sound, realistic and achievable schedule basis, something that has been an elusive goal in the project management process.
Deltek, on the other hand, has been in the business of providing integrated program management (IPM) solutions for the past 30 years.
The acquisition would benefit Deltek by enhancing its planning capacities and giving companies more control to best plan and manage their endeavor.
