Girls' Generation subunit TaeTiSeo or TTS for short recently released a winter mini-album with the banner "Dear Santa" on December 4th of this year.
Immediately upon release, "Dear Santa" topped on both domestic and international charts including iTunes where the album sang at the first place in nine countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Macau, Vietnam, Brunei, Malaysia, and Cambodia.
It also reached the top 10 in albums chart in many other countries such as Indonesia, Japan, Hungary, the Philippines, and Costa Rica. The album topped charts in Europe and even climbed up to No.1 in the Pop Albums Chart in many Asian countries.
Domestically, the album comfortably received an all-kill staying at No.1 in eight various music charts like Genie, Melon, Mnet, Naver, Olleh, Soribada, Bugs, and Monkey several hours after its release.
Meanwhile, the fans are growing fonder of member Seohyun, who is also the youngest and, apparently, the leader of TaeTiSeo, for her contributions to the lyrics of the very title "Dear Santa." It can be recalled that Seohyun also participated in writing of the lyrics of "Only U" for their previous mini-album "Holler" which was released last September.
This signals a very gracious opportunity for more artists in SM Entertainment to join in the production of their albums. It is not uncommon knowledge in the K-Pop music industry how little the company provides for the artists to contribute for their own music.
Perhaps that tight culture is slowly being reformed as Girls' Generation's leader and first soloist Taeyeon has also been reported to have participated in the lyric writing of her title track "I." Before that, the girl group's junior Jonghyun also wrote the lyrics of his group SHINee's title track "View" although he has been writing some of their songs way before.
Being busy for Girls' Generation's concert tour "Phantasia" in different countries including Japan in which they are currently in for the said tour, the girls of TaeTiSeo Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun have ended their performances in weekly music shows in Korea. The last stop was in SBS Inkigayo on December 6th where they grazed the audience with "Merry Christmas" and "Dear Santa."
Just like gift giving during Christmas, part of the proceeds from the sales of Girls' Generation TaetiSeo's "Dear Santa" will be given to UNICEF as a donation along with EXO's Christmas mini-album "Sing for You."
