Goat, a women's wear brand, received investments from private equity firm Amery Capital. The women's label is also set to disclose that company profits have doubled over the last year. It was over this period that Goat introduced its e-commerce and was picked as The Walpole: Brands of Tomorrow 2013, a program for mentoring and coaching.
A stake of Goat has been sold to Amery Capital. Amery Capital was established by former M&S manager Maurice Helfgott, who also has assets in footwear brand Oliver Sweeney and another womenswear brand, Long Tall Sally. It was reported that Amery Capital bought a considerable minority interest in the firm. How much was spent for the stake, however, was not disclosed.
Goat Creative director Jane Lewis stated she was pleased about the direction the brand is heading to. "Business is great and the future is bright, I am truly delighted with the recent results and we have exciting plans for the brand," she said.
