Fox and Lionsgate are battling it out for Taron Egerton's conflicting schedule for 'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' and 'Robin Hood: Origins'. Both production teams want Egerton in early months of 2016.
After the surprisingly successful R-rated, comedy action movie Kingsman: The Secret Service, Taron Egerton became one of the most sought after actor. This resulted to other roles being offered to him like the young Robin Hood in Robin Hood: Origins, a movie produced by DiCaprio.
Conflicts in schedule arise after the confirmation of the sequel of Kingsman: The Secret Service. In between filming for another movie and the sequel of the first, The Hollywood Reporter said Egerton is in dispute.
Most movies are done filming after two months or less but with historical movies like Robin Hood: Origins, it is much longer. The filming will eventually overlap thus it will affect the filming of Kingsman: Secret Service 2.
Screen Rant said that if Fox gets what it wants, the filming of the sequel will start as early as April next year. But the odds are not with them because the production of Robin Hood: Origins is way smoother than theirs. Also, with everything that is happening, it was said in a report that the sequel's script is not even done yet.
Even though there are other actors starring in the movie like Colin Firth, who confirmed in the filming of the follow-up, Egerton, playing thug-turned-spy Gary "Eggsy" Unwin in the movie is a very important character.
Fox is very determined in releasing the sequel in the year 2017 as Comingsoon.net reported. The release date is on June 16, 2017. Fox is pushing this sequel because the first movie grossed $128 million domestically and another $285 million overseas. They did not expect this outcome but after the success they now want a part 2 to happen.
Either way, Fox already set a date and the fans will see Egerton in the 'Kingsman: The Secret Service 2' and will definitely have a good time watching him.
