Visceral Games has recently unveiled the details of the "Getaway" DLC for the first-person shooter "Battlefield Hardline." As noted by the studio, the upcoming content update will come with a new game mode, a secondary weapon, firearms, maps and vehicles.
According to a new post on the Battlefield blog, "Getaway" will come with four new maps. Visceral Games didn't provide pictures or descriptions of these new zones but noted that they are called Pacific Highway, Train Dodge, Diversion and Double Cross.
The DLC will also feature a new game mode dubbed as "Capture the Bag." The developer, however, did not describe the nature of this new mode but based on its name, it could be "Battlefield Hardline's" version of the classic team-based "Capture the Flag" match.
In addition to these, gamers will also be able to get their hands on three new firearms for the Mechanic Class characters. Although the studio did not mention the name of these weapons, a report by VG247 suggested that these could be the SAR 21 bullpup assault rifle, the classic Winchester 1888 repeating slide-action rifle and the Glock 17 race pistol. Players will also receive a new fire axe melee weapon and four Legendary Camos through the future content update.
Other features of the upcoming DLC include the four new vehicles and a gadget. But, like the other contents of the DLC, Visceral Games also did not go into detail regarding their forms and functions.
As for its official release date, the studio only noted that the "Getaway" DLC will arrive sometime in January next year for those who purchased the Season Pass for Battlefield Hardline, Gamespot reported. Visceral Games did not mention when it will be available for those who only got the basic edition of the game.
"Battlefield Hardline" debuted in North America on March 17, 2015. The game is currently available for the Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One platforms.
