The "NCIS" season 13 mid-season finale surprised Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard (David McCallum) that his brother, who he thought had been dead for decades, might actually be alive. Previews and teases of episodes that come after and which will air on January 2016 keep the "NCIS" team focused with family issues. Bishop (Emily Wickersharm) re-examines her relationship with her husband Jake (Jamie Bamber) while bonding again with her mom (Lindsay Wagner). And tech whiz Abby catches up with another member of the family, who is also a brother.
The "NCIS" season 13 mid-season finale, "Spinning Wheels," shakes up Ducky, as well as the audience, with the news that his late brother might actually be alive. According to Design & Trend, the elderly but still handsome forensic scientist stumbles on this possibility shortly after he was kidnapped. The NCIS team, led by Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon), pulls out all stops to rescue Ducky, and solve the mystery of his long-lost brother.
One treat of this episode are flashback scenes showing the ties between Ducky and his sibling. The younger Dr. Mallard will be played by actor Adam Campbell.
On a less happy development, Bishop is still struggling with her feelings for husband Jake after discovering his infidelity. Ecumenical News reports that, to get the right perspective along with some needed downtime for emotional healing, she goes home to Oklahoma for the holidays. Fans will get a treat in meeting Ellie's mother, Barbara, played by Lindsay Wagner, famous for saving the world as the "Bionic Woman" in the '70s. Gibbs accompanies Bishop to her hometown, fueling speculation if sparks will fly between him and Barbara.
NCIS resident tech whiz Abby (Pauley Perrette) will also have her special moments with her own brother this holiday season. Christian Today reports that her brother Luca will be visiting her. While plot details are sparse, one thing is clear: the actor playing Luca is Tyler Ritter who appeared in shows like "Grey's Anatomy" and "Modern Family."
"NCIS" will return to CBS on January 5, 2016.
