Home Run Derby gold mine for small scale businesses

By

Yeonis Cespedes' name became known to almost everyone with a television or internet access. Sports analysts agree that the Home Run Derby just bumped up the young man's paycheck, but it's not only Cespedes that's cashing in on the baseball frenzy.

Around the stadium, small scale businesses are blooming. One of which is Cooperstown Cookie, a cookie company founded by Pati Grady of Cooperstown, New York. Her Major League Licensed cookies have been selling during major baseball events. "It changed everything," Grady said regarding the license grant.

The small business started when Gradi used a drinking glass as cookie cutter to the dough of her family recipe shortbread. After realizing that the result was exactly the same size as Major League Baseball regulation baseballs, inspiration struck.

Presently, Gradi supplies her cookies in baseball stadiums across the United States. She also ventured into online merchandizing, selling cookies packaged with different team logos of the MLB.
