Trailer for the new movie "Independence Day: Resurgence" was just released and it is missing one strong component. Will Smith is not present in the new movie trailer. Smith's character, Captain Steven Hiller is absent so the plot will have to be modified.
With Will Smith's absence, new character like Jake Morrison is added. Getsurrey unveil that Hemsworth is going to play the lead role. Other characters to be added are Sam played by Joey King, Patricia Whitmore played by Maika Monroe, General Adams played by William Fitchner. Also actors who starred in the original film will be present. Judd Hirsch, Jeff Goldblum, and Vivica A. Fox are back as Julius Levinson, David Levinson, and Jasmine Dubrow.
In relation to Captain Hiller's death, DenofGeek said a site called 'War of 1996' told the story Captain Hiller's fate. Will Smith's character is said to die due to an error of aircraft trial testing. The aircraft that he was testing malfunctioned and with that, the hero died. They added that another story emerges. Another plot is made through Hiller's death. His son Dylan is said to fulfill his father's legacy.
The whole movie is set many years after the first "Independence Day". Global defense are made by human beings. They are used to alien equipments to protect them from another alien invasion in case it happens. It did happen but the human race is never ready for it.
The Wrap said director Roland Emmerich is returning to film the movie. Also, they added that Emmerich is also producing the film along with Dean Devlin and Harold Kloser. Carter Blanchard, Nicholas Wright, and James A. Woods are writing the screenplay. Ute Emmerich and Carsten H.W. Lorenz are executive producers.
The original "Independence Day" movie was released in 1996 and it was a blockbuster. It cemented Will Smith's name in the entertainment industry. The sequel "Independence Day: Resurgence", is to be released in theaters on June 24, 2016.
