Twinkies make an epic comeback

After being absent in shelves for almost eight months, Twinkies made a comeback. The popular snack's return to the consumer market is set to please a large number of customers, said consumer analysts.

"People are very excited about the Twinkie. Everybody's happy that it's back," commented a Wal-Mart employee.

The return of the Twinkie happened almost three days ago, but the official announcement of the snack's revival was made just yesterday. Other products made by Hostess accompanied Twinkie's reappearance.

When the death of the Twinkies was reported eight months ago, a rush on the buying of the snack cakes occurred. Customers even offered to sell the Twinkies for a dollar on eBay, reporters said. In the absence of Hostess products, competitors sold their version of the cakes.

"We've seen a year over year increase in sales of both these products so clearly our customers are pleased to have the product back on the shelves," said Jeanne Norcorss, vice president for corporate affairs.

In response to the "overwhelming demand" of Twinkies across the United States, the company said that it will be delivering 50 million of the snack food in the first two weeks.
