Betrayal, death, and more violence anticipate the return of Vikings for Season 4. The forthcoming season indicates Rollo return to retribution against brother King Ragnar Lothbrok of Denmark while Bjorn Ironside inherits his father throne. Lagertha and Floki suffers under Ragnar's hands.
A dying and weak King Ragnar Lothbrok of Denmark will return to History's Vikings Season 4. Despite the dwindling health, Ragnar played by Travis Fimmel will be back to punish his people and loved ones who have betrayed him.
In the previous season, Ragnar staged his death and heard many dark revelations from people he least expect to hear the confessions from including his close friend ship builder Floki and former wife Lagertha. International Business Times divulged in the spoilers that series creator Michael Hirst hinted Ragnar concocted surprises for people whom he felt deceived him in Season 4.
The Viking Season 4 official teaser video which can be watched here shows Floki tied up to a pole and publicly humiliated, and Lagertha may end in similar fate in the fourth season. The teaser also gave away clue on who will possibly acquire Ragnar's title and it seems his first son Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) is the most eligible candidate as he is particularly highlighted in the video.
Hirst has earlier spilled out that Bjorn is the only trusted ally of Ragnar. The eldest son of the warrior has no political intentions or whatsoever, making him an honest candidate. Additionally, Bjorn is almost similar in traits and personality to his father. Hirst commented that Bjorn may even be a greater leader than his father Ragnar.
Additional twist to Vikings Season 4 is the continued betrayal of Rollo (Clive Standen) to his brother Ragnar. The Hollywood Reporter shared that Rollo bows to defend the kingdom of France against Ragnar's in return of riches and wealth from the French. Rollo wanted to get back to Ragnar after abandoning his troop in the middle of battle.
Vikings Season 4 is speculated to air sometime in March 2016 at History Channel.
