On-Ramp Wireless obtained additional US $15 million after its series C funding. The financing came from new investor Enbridge and existing investors Energy Technology Ventures and Third Wave Ventures. The transaction brings On-Ramp's total funding to US $31 million.
In statement released today, the company stated that the funds would be used to open new markets that wish to use On-ramp Wireless' technology. It would also be used to finance efforts to commercialize the company's Digital Oil Field and Smart Grid solutions.
"On-Ramp Wireless will use the latest round of financing to continue to expand our large ecosystem of application partners in our key energy markets and extend into new adjacent verticals through our strategic partner program," Kevin Hell, president and CEO of On-Ramp Wireless, said.
He added "Our technology can easily connect assets that have previously been unreachable, from oil and gas pipelines spanning hundreds of miles of harsh terrain to electrical transmission and distribution assets, both above and below ground."
