Oscar De La Hoya will launch two boxing channels called The Ring and Golden Boy Channel. The 10-time world champion teamed up with FilmOn TV Networks to bring the shows to its streaming service by the end of January for free.
According to Sports Illustrated, the Golden Boy Channel will feature De La Hoya's classic fights, while The Ring will show more of the popular boxing series called LA Fight Club. De La Hoya, who is Golden Boy Promotions' chairman and CEO said that his company will always be "about pitting the best against the best."
"This new partnership with FilmOn will only further showcase our mission by offering fans the best fights from today and yesterday." The Golden Boy Channel will stream 2,000 hours of anything Oscar De La Hoya. It will have replays of his fights with Manny Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather, and more.
He aims to bring boxing into today's connected age of internet and other technologies. Engadget reported that De La Hoya became one of the most powerful figures in this contact sport after he retired from professional boxing. These programs will show live and on-demand fights for viewers with no cost.
This new channels are a treat for De la Hoya's legions of fans who are hungry to see the record-breaking pay-per-view fights of the legendary boxer. FilmOn TV Network cable channel is available on Dish Network in LA and Sky in UK.
World Boxing News wrote that The Ring channel also shows behind-the-scenes and analysis of particular fights. The show will stream the LA Fight Club on a bi-weekly basis. The fights in this show are live from the Belasco Theater in Los Angeles. This show will also stream undercard fights that will advance to the HBO Boxing events.
De La Hoya will also host talk shows about contact sports with prominent athletes like Ronda Rousey, Holly Holm, and Sugar Ray Leonard.
