Wiper revealed a collection of another $2 million totaling to $4.5 million of seed fund as this messaging app stretches into entertainment. Additionally, it also unveils independent films' streaming service of $4.99, together with an Apple TV app.
The latest capital combination came from Michael Choupak, the company's existing investor and Internet entrepreneur. He pioneered Intermedia which is an email provider for cloud-based business. In 2014, he funded the first half of the app's seed round of $2.5 million.
Wiper differs itself from Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp as Wiper not only enables communication but transfer money as well by way of Bitcoin. The company provides service offers in substitute to traditional Hollywood models by giving filmmakers a good break having no major backing studio and sufficient influence for their film streamed in Amazon or even Netflix, as reported by Venture Beat.
Aside from chatting, YouTube and songs can be viewed from the app along with voice calls. Wiper gives you the option to delete from your own device, from a friend's or even from the server any activities done, assuming no trace has been left of the said activities. Since the app pertains to entertainment, it released a $4.99 monthly subscription. A percentage of sixty-five will be paid to creators through Bitcoin.
The subscription will have you connected to thousands of indie films and can watch the previews of available movies. The subscription presents you ways of direct communication with filmmakers via sharing tools and messaging, according to PanARMENIAN Network.
According to The Next Web, the service has the films' licensing rights but incapable of getting distribution deals with traditional channels. However, every mobile user has been given the opportunity to share films through messaging, rating, or giving comments. Previews are available to watch within 15 seconds.
Wiper is a Messaging and calling app developed to provide users around the world choices to Hollywood movies. Featured movies runs from short to full-length and came from 46 countries which can be accessed from iOS, new Apple TV, and Android devices. Monthly subscription fee to take advantage of original indie films costs $4.99.
