Giving birth was supposed to be less stressful for the Duchess of Cambridge as she checked in the historic and lavish St. Mary's Hospital's Lindo Wing. On early Monday, Kate Middleton entered the Paddington, London facility with Prince William.
St. Mary's Hospital was where Princess Diana gave birth to Princes William and Harry. Other British Royals and rich and famous people were also delivered in the luxurious hospital.
The Guardian stated that a Lindo Suite required US$8,600 deposit. The consultants' fees were not included in the package yet. Furthermore, the cost of another day's stay at the hospital would cost US$1,560.
The Daily Mail reported that the Lindo Wing underwent a major redecoration last year. The unit boasted with "highest quality of care" for all pregnancies. It also featured separate birthing rooms and birthing pool. Satellite television, radio, internet access, a safe and a refrigerator were also provided in every room. The royal family would also enjoy a devoted staff that catered for celebratory moments. The Daily Mail added that the Duchess' stay could end up costing as much as US$15,659.
