Atlanta-based PlayOn! Sports, otherwise known as 2080 Media Inc, announced that it has raised Series D funds totalling USD 26 million on Monday.
Herff Jones from Indianapolis was the lead investor for the high school sports events producer, followed by Buckhead Investment Partners, Imlay Investments and Hamilton Ventures who also joined the rond.
The funding will be used to further expand projects, strategic priorities as well as support growth and development initiatives, including NFHS Network.
Herff Jones is an established provider of sports, graduation, recognition and school spirit products and services, including caps, gowns, cheerleading training and class rings. In line with its acquisition of BSN Sports, Herff has become one of the leading direct providers of sports apparel, uniforms and equipment.
The newly established partnership between Herff Jones and PlayOn also enlists commercial agreements to further improve PlayOn's School Broadcast Program and to combine efforts in marketing both companies' products and services.
"Herff Jones is excited to partner with PlayOn! Sports as they continue to solidify their position as the leader in the high school sports media," said Herff Jones Inc CEO, Jeff Webb. "Our shared goals of providing services to schools and value to students by preserving high school memories make PlayOn and Herff Jones natural partners."
