Ogilvy & Mather (O&M), one the leading marketing communications companies in the globe, announced 44-year-old Michael Dobak as CEO of California-based Ogilvy & Mather West.
The appointment to the newly-created role is effective immediately and has placed the responsibility of overseeing the entire West Coast operations on Dobak. West Coast operations include OgilvyOne, O&M Advertising and Ogilvy Public Relations that span four cities - Los Angeles, Denver, San Francisco and Sacramento.
"There is no one better qualified to position Ogilvy & Mather distinctively in this market, where new technologies and media are powerfully changing business and consumer experiences," said O&M North America CEO John Seifert about Dobak. "Michael will be charged with building a gateway to technology, entertainment and gaming companies, located in the West, that are directly involved with this revolutionary transformation in marketing."
The California native's advertising career began in Dailey & Associates located in Los Angeles, followed by a stint as a high-level officer at Hal Riney & Partners in San Francisco. Dobak held the post of Gloal Managing Director for IBM for the past two years where he has played a key role in building the "Smarter Planet" project.
"The West is an influential region globally - it is the center of technology, gaming and of course entertainment - I'm excited to be returning to the region and working with our leadership team and creative talent to build new experiences and bring new capability to our clients," stated Dobak about his new position.
