NFL Player Engagement in cooperation with University of Miami School of Business Administration and TD Ameritrade will hold its second finance camp. The camp will be held in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for four days, starting April 4 to 7.
A total of 28 current and former players with their family members participated in the bootcamp, which offer a relaxed learning environment.
NFL Player Engagement is a program to assists NFL players to reach their highest potential on- and off-the-field. The program provides guidance, support, and resources for either former, current or future NFL players. The NFL Player Engagement for current and former players reach 2,000 players and their spouses annually.
Every year the NFL Player Engagement offer a variety of programs and services focused on career development, financial and lifelong education. That includes personal, psychological, and physical wellness. In its official press release, the National Football League announced its second annual personal finance camp which will be held in Florida for four days starting April 4 to 7.
According to Inside the Bills, Buffalo Bills Wide Receiver Greg Salas will also join the program. Salas recently just renewed his contract with Buffalo Bills on January 4. The Bills extended Salas contract along with other three free agents players and seven futures contract..
Chicago Tribune reported that Chicaco Bears has also pllayer joining the camp, Three Bears have signed in to join the camp, they are safety Antrel Rolle, outside linebacker Lamarr Houston and cornerback Kyle Fuller. While three players from Oakland Raiders are also attending the camp, they are Sio Moore, Miles Burris and TJ Carrie.
Vice president of NFL Player Engagement Charles Way said, "Programs like the Personal Finance Camp provide our players and their families with the resources, skills and support to achieve success in all aspects of their lives. Financial stability is critical to that success."
In four days, participants will receive instruction on finance management from University of Miami School of Business Administration faculty and TD Ameritrade financial professionals. Other facilitator is a former NFL player Patrick Kerney, who is now the director of business development at National Fire & Casualty Investments.
Director of Executive Education at the University of Miami School of Business Administration David Lecón said regarding the program, "We've designed the program specifically for past and current players to help them achieve long-term financial security." He also said, "It is wonderful to see so many NFL players making such crucial investment in their future."
NFL will hold finance camp on April 4 to 7, 2016. A total 28 current and former players will participate in the bootcamp, along with their family members, making a total of 43 participants.
