Former Iron Chef America participant, Kent Rathbun, holds tequila dinner in celebration of National Tequila Day

July 24 is National Tequila Day, and the guys over at craveDFW started the ball rolling early. craveDFW reported that Iron Chef America former participant, Kent Rathbun, was going to hold a huge Patron Tequila Dinner on July 25 at his restaurant, Abacus.

The tequila dinner cost "US$85 per person plus tax and 20% gratuity," according to Abacus' website. The dinner will start at 6:30pm. There will be four courses, with the restaurant whipping up roasted jumbo prawn, wood roasted Texas quail, and duck "carnitas," among others.

Abacus has been offering fine-dining experience to its patrons for around 14 years now. The AAA restaurant was the flagship business of Kent Rathbun Concepts.

Aside from Abacus, Kent Rathbun Concepts also operated Jasper's and Kent Rathbun's Blue Plate Kitchen. Rathbun run the company together with his business partner, Bill Hyde Jr. However, the two would not reveal the equity split.

The partner's business earned revenue of more than US$20 million in 2012. This represented a 2.7% increase from 2011. Meanwhile, Rathbun stated, "Year to date revenue is up 4.2 percent compared with the same period in 2012."
