The assessment included the latest information in relation to salary together with the regional difference on the offerings of the actual salary for the skilled as well as senior level candidates for the fields of finance, information and communications technology and engineering which is also considered as some of the 10 most popular job sectors.

Between the months of Aprils and October of this year, said salary offerings representing the remuneration of the monthly liability of companies were displayed on the website of Career Junction.

In the field of engineering, R48 142 to R62 637 were being presented to senior civil engineers, while between R46 816 to R57 287 were being offered to senior mechanical engineers. Meanwhile, between R39 306 to R52 745 were presented to senior electronic engineers.

The salary survey revealed that the salary offerings in the field of engineering in Western Cape appeared to be lower than the salary offerings made in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng which could have been possibly due to a lower demand for skills in the Western Cape.

On the other hand, in the field of information technology, the salary offering for the senior positions related to software development ranges from R43 091 to R52 761. Meanwhile, between R40 067 to R51 692 are being offered to the senior positions for project management.

The survey has revealed that there was only a small difference in the earning of the field of IT in Gauteng and in the Western Cape. However, KwaZulu-Natal seemed to have the lower salary offerings compared to the two when it comes to this sector.

Meanwhile, Gauteng showed to have the biggest salary offerings in terms of design, media and arts sector followed by the Western Cape then the KawZulu-Natal.

While there are little differences in every sector, the said survey makes known to the public that Gauteng, being the region in Africa to have the largest stock exchange, is still the best place for professionals in the financial sector when it comes to salary which was due to the region's higher demand for labor compared to that of the Western Cape and KwaZulu-Natal.
