Samsung's next flagship smartphone boasts an improved hardware to be focused on the camera, based on the latest leak around the Galaxy S8.
The smartphone is said to feature a slick design, an improved camera optimized for group shots, and an enhanced artificial intelligence service.
Over the past years, Samsung has provided the consumers with improved quality of camera. And Galaxy S8 may step up its game with an even better camera, with the front camera capable of autofocus. There are not a lot of smartphones in the market with such feature.
According to ETNews in South Korea, there are rumors that the camera will feature an encoder sort of focusing mechanism, instead of a voice coil motor. Its focusing actuator, which will be on the side of the lens, will allow recognition of people located at different distances in the frame. The actuator-drive autofocus technique will improve the speed and accuracy of pictures taken by the rear camera.
Chinese social media site Weibo also tipped about another possible feature of the smartphone, saying that it will feature a dual 12MP + 13 MP rear camera.
It is also rumored to have an iris scanner that will enhance the biometric security features.
When it comes to processors, Samsung has to build its phones with strong specifications. Rumors suggest that Galaxy S8 will use Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 which will provide more power and less energy consumption.
There are also rumors that Samsung may use an Exynos 8895 processor with ARM's new Mali-G71 GPU which is almost twice as powerful as that of Galaxy S7.
Leaked information about the phone's storage indicates that S8 may have 6GB RAM and 256GB internal storage.
In a report, Park Won-sang, a Samsung mobile engineer, said that the display of S8 will cover 90% display area ratio, according to Park Won-sang, a Samsung mobile engineer. Its 4K resolution screen also teases on the phone's graphical ability.
Reports claim that Samsung is working out deals with LG Chem for the upcoming phone's battery. The phone may also be capable of fast charging and quicker data transfers through the USB Type-C reversible charging point.
Samsung may also launch its flagship device with Android 7.0 Nougat. A November briefing with Executive Vice President Rhee Injong confirmed that Samsung will have its version of a virtual assistant which would connect to third-party services and apps.
Another interesting feature S8 is rumored to have is the app Family Care. The said app will allow parents to manage what apps can be installed on a handset and how long the device can be used, with parents' phones synced with their children's. The kids may also use the app to send their location to their parents to request for pickup.
Although much of the features are not yet officially confirmed, these rumors build up the anticipation of consumers on what Samsung has to offer next year.
