Tomorrowland has been around since 2005 and has become a notable and highly anticipated event the all over the world. The large electronic music festival, organized by D&T Entertainment and Media Enterprise, is currently in its ninth edition, which opened July 26 in Boom, Belgium.
The festival has a reputation of delivering "some of the most over-the-top stage production on the planet". The festival has grown from being a one-day, 10,000-person event and now offered the event to more than 180,000 visitors in a span of three days.
Adding to the fans' delight was the news of Tomorrowland's expansion to other regions like North America. This new experience was dubbed as "TomorrowWorld".
"Having the chance to organise a Tomorrowland outside of Belgium is more exciting than anything we ever dreamed of when we started years ago as young music lovers and entrepreneurs," organizers and brothers Manu and Michael Beers said.
"We have received requests for versions of Tomorrowland from all over the world e week. From rich Russians and Indians to promoters in Australia, the US and South America. We will do it, but on our conditions, and only in places where we feel comfortable," the Beer brothers stated in an interview.
Tomorrowland was a US$22-million project, which cost US$5 million more than the total initial investment in Disneyland. The cost brought Disneyland's total investment from US$17 million to US$92 million.
