Russia's President Vladimir Putin received a surprise diagnosis during his visit to Chukotka in the country's Far East on Wednesday.
According to Newsweek, Dr. Denis Kloss, the Chukotka District Hospital head of department, made the assessment after Putin arrived in Anadyr, the Chukotka region's capital. He provided unexpected insights into Putin's health during the president's first regional trip of the year.
Health Condition of Russia's President Vladimir Putin 'Excellent'
Vladimir Putin's health has been the subject of rumor for years, and last October, he allegedly suffered a cardiac arrest, which made headlines worldwide.
Describing the Russian leader's health condition, Kloss told Russia's state-run news agency RIA Novosti that Putin was in "excellent" shape.
"Cheerful voice, cheerful gait. How he represents thought: it is accessible, it is understandable. There are no other political leaders overseas even close," the Russian doctor told the outlet.
After the assessment, Kloss advised Putin to get more rest as it plays a significant role in a longer life.
Joe Biden vs. Vladimir Putin
The Russian doctor has also compared Vladimir Putin's health favorably with President Joe Biden's. Kloss said that "age has a colossal impact" on the 81-year-old American president.
He noted that although Biden "seems to have a healthy lifestyle and diet, age has definitely taken its toll." Putin, 71, told Anadyr residents that he spends two to two and a half hours daily doing sports as physical education should be a part of life.
"At least an hour, at least half an hour. Every person should know that he must devote time to this... This is one of the most important social indicators of the development of society," the Russian president noted.
According to Putin, "you need to love the work you do," as he shared his secret to a healthy life.
