Joe Biden: 'The Only Loser I See Is Donald Trump'
According to Newsweek, Joe Biden took the opportunity to criticize Donald Trump during his speech at a Democratic Party dinner in Columbia on Saturday when he kicked off his reelection campaign ahead of the 2024 general election.
In his speech, Biden called the former president and Republican frontrunner a "loser" while also slamming his handling of the economy. Biden first took a swipe at Trump's treatment of veterans, highlighting a 2020 report that the former president called them "suckers and losers."
"I look at veterans very differently from Donald Trump... How dare he say that? I call them patriots and heroes. The only loser I see is Donald Trump," Biden said as the crowd applauded.
The Atlantic report claimed that Trump had referred to members at the Aisne-Marne cemetery as "suckers and losers" during a trip to France in November 2018 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the World War I's end. The former president has denied the reports.

Joe Biden also touted his economic record as he attacked Donald Trump's economic policies. The president asserted that inflation in the United States is already on a downward trend and is currently lower than in any major economy in the world."
"Our economy has grown more in the last six months than it ever did at any point in Trump's entire four years in office," Biden noted.

Public Sentiment on Bidenomics
However, public sentiment towards Bidenomics has not been the most positive. His approval rating hit a record low of 34 percent in a recent Monmouth University poll, with 70 percent of the respondents disapproving of his handling of inflation.
Joe Biden has also struggled to get the support of Latino voters, a group crucial in his victory in 2020. A recent CNBC survey shows that Donald Trump enjoys a five-point lead over Biden among Latino voters.
Newsweek reported that its analysis also shows that Black voters are being increasingly swayed by the former president, who, according to recent polling, is on the verge of winning more Black votes than any other Republican in history.
