Gap Inc. announced on Monday the appointment of famous American fashion designer Zac Posen as the chain's new executive vice president and creative director, along with the role of chief creative officer of Old Navy.
Zac Posen Appointed as Gap's Creative Director
Zac Posen boasts a remarkable career spanning over 25 years, marked by his prowess in various domains of fashion, including red-carpet couture, ready-to-wear collections, accessories, and costume design.
As a chief creative officer of Old Navy, Posen will take charge of design, merchandising, and marketing for the second-largest apparel brand in the United States and the largest within the Gap Inc. family.
Reporting directly to Haio Barbeito, president and CEO of Old Navy, Posen is expected to play a pivotal role in reshaping the brand's identity.

New Era of Gap
Zac Posen's appointment aligns with Gap Inc.'s broader strategy of infusing fresh talent into its leadership team. With recent additions like Eric Chan as chief business and strategy officer and Amy Thompson as chief people officer, Gap Inc. aims to redefine itself for a new era.
"Gap Inc. and its brands have shaped American fashion and pop culture for decades and there's so much potential at Old Navy," Posen said in a press statement.
"I'm eager to join Gap Inc. now as brand reinvigoration kicks up across the portfolio, rooted in great product, experiences, and a new culture of creativity," he added.
