Microsoft has created the "world's first floating Xbox controller" in celebration of the release of "Dune: Part Two" on March 1, alongside a special edition Xbox Series S console.
IGN reported that this unique controller, which does not technically float itself, is mounted atop a Dune-themed Ornithopter stand that does.

According to Xbox Wire, the "specially designed console holder inspired by the Ornithopter captures the vibrant colours of Arrakis's sun, planets, and sand."
"This custom Xbox Series S is a true collector's item for fans. In addition, Xbox introduces the world's first floating Xbox Controller. Hovering above oceans of sand dunes like an Ornithopter, the visually stunning design will look great in any living room," it added.
The custom Xbox Series S console, a true collector's item for fans, has a big, much less subtle stand that looks like a flying machine, with an orange-colored console slots into the back.
How to Get the 'World's First Floating Xbox Controller' by Microsoft
Fans will not find this Microsoft accessory on store shelves. Like many of the tech giant's fancy Xbox controllers, this set of custom hardware can only be won through sweepstakes.
Fans must follow Xbox on X, formerly known as Twitter, and retweet the official Xbox sweepstakes tweet from February 13 until March 25, 2024. For other rules and eligibility details, visit here.
The competition aligns with the much-anticipated "Dune: Part Two" premiere and the debut of the Dune expansion coming to Microsoft Flight Simulator on February 13, which lets players navigate the treacherous deserts of Arrakis in an Ornithopter.
Xbox is also bringing two life-size Royal Atreides Ornithopter gaming simulators to the London Microsoft Experience Center on Oxford Circus beginning February 16 and at the New York Microsoft Experience Center on Fifth Avenue starting February 26, which will allow players to explore the Dune expansion pack firsthand.
