VinFast Opens Its EV Manufacturing Plant In India To Create 3,500 Jobs

Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has commenced construction on its inaugural integrated manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu, India. Per Financial Express, the manufacturer is anticipating the creation of about 3,500 jobs.

The groundbreaking ceremony, graced by dignitaries including M K Stalin, Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, and Dr. T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, highlighted the state's commitment to industrial development and sustainable mobility initiatives.

Spread across a 400-acre site within the State Industries Promotion Corporation of Tamil Nadu (SIPCOT) industrial estate, the $500 million investment over five years aims to produce 150,000 electric vehicles annually while fostering local economic growth through job creation and supplier partnerships.

VinFast's CEO, Pham Sanh Chau, emphasized the company's dedication to green transportation and strategic alliances, positioning VinFast as a key player in India's electric vehicle market.

Meanwhile, Dr. T. R. B. Rajaa underscored Tamil Nadu's support for VinFast's ambitious growth plans and commitment to zero-emission mobility, aligning with the state's vision as a global automotive innovation hub.

VinFast's expansion into India marks a significant step in its global strategy, complementing existing manufacturing facilities in Vietnam and future plants in the U.S. and Indonesia.

With this development, they get closer to accomplishing their plans for a nationwide dealership network and aim to strengthen the brand's presence and customer outreach across India.
