Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said on Sunday that former President Donald Trump does not seem to understand that Russia's President Vladimir Putin "will never stop."

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Says Donald Trump Doesn't Understand Vladimir Putin

In an interview with CNN's Kaitlan Collins, Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he thinks Donald Trump does not know Vladimir Putin and the Russian leader's goal.

"I know he met him... but he never fought with Putin. (The) American army never fought with the army of Russia. Never... I have a better understanding," Zelenskyy noted.

"I don't think he understands that Putin will never stop," he added.

According to The Hill, Zelenskyy's interview happened two years after Moscow launched its invasion of Ukraine, which is now facing challenges on multiple fronts, including troops who did not have enough ammunition as US Congress continued to stall President Joe Biden's $60 billion military aid package for Ukraine.

Trump has fed the increasing skepticism among US voters about continued Ukraine aid, making remarks that have sparked concern among US allies.

Earlier this month, the former president said he would encourage Russia to do "whatever the hell they want" to any NATO member country that was not spending enough on defense.

In his interview on Sunday, Zelenskyy told Collins that such a statement was "unbelievable" and he "can't understand how Donald Trump can be on the side of Putin."

"If Donald Trump doesn't know whom he will support, Ukraine or Russia, I think that he will have challenges with his society because, to support Russia, it means to be against Americans," Zelensky noted.

However, the Ukrainian president did not answer if he wanted Trump to win in the 2024 presidential election. He said, "the decision who will be the president is a decision of your society," The Hill reported.

Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy Says to Lose to Vladimir Putin, 'It Means to be Killed'

When asked about his previous assertion that losing the war would be worse than death, Volodymyr Zelenskyy affirmed that his sentiment remains unchanged.

He emphasized the dire implications of succumbing to Russian aggression, saying that facing defeat at the hands of Vladimir Putin would result in unimaginable suffering for the Ukrainian people.

"Because when he wants only one goal, for him, is just to kill you, your people... To lose (to) him, it means to be killed," Zelenskyy noted.
