Accenture has announced its plan to acquire the EdTech startup Udacity to bolster its educational offerings in response to the growing demand for AI-focused learning resources.
While the financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed, Accenture also revealed its plan to invest $1 billion in developing a technology learning platform, LearnVantage.
Accenture Plans to Acquire Udacity
In a press release, Accenture said Udacity's team of more than 230 professionals will join Accenture LearnVantage, a platform designed to provide clients with comprehensive technology learning and training services.
These services aim to help people reskill and upskill in technology, data, and AI to reinvent their organizations and achieve greater business value.
Udacity's services combine online flexibility with personalized instruction. By acquiring Udacity, Accenture aims to leverage its expertise in developing proprietary technology courses and its ability to bridge the gap between online education and practical workplace skills.

The completion of the acquisition is still subject to customary closing conditions, including the necessary antitrust clearances.
