Bigi "Blanket" Jackson, 22, whose legal name is Prince Michael Jackson III, has filed a legal injunction against his grandmother, Katherine Jackson.

In the court documents acquired by USA Today, Blanket said his 93-year-old grandmother should not use the funds from his father's estate to finance her legal battle against executors over an undisclosed "recent transaction."

According to USA Today, Blanket's attorneys said that Katherine's requests for legal services do not benefit the estate, so a judge should not approve her requests.

Michael Jackson's Son Not Entirely Opposing His Grandmother

The lawsuit of Michael Jackson's son against Katherine Jackson was a response to her ongoing opposition to the $600 million deal with Sony Music. This deal was for half of the late pop star's recorded music catalog and publishing by the estate's executors.

In December, a judge sided with the executors, saying the deal could continue. However, TMZ reported that Katherine filed an appeal to the decision, a move Blanket said he does not want to be a part of.

Bigi "Blanket" Jackson and his two siblings, Prince Michael II and Paris Jackson, are also heirs to the estate. Blanket's court filing noted that the Sony deal was of "paramount significance" to him, "both financially and personally."

However, People reported that Blanket is not entirely against his grandmother's request. The filing noted that he "does not object to reasonable attorney fees and costs" for her initial objection to the deal as she presented "essential evidence."

The amount Katherine seeks to finance her legal battle was not disclosed. However, Blanket noted that "the overall amount for the trial might be high" and pondered if "four lawyers charging fees of $840 to $1,400 per hour was necessary" as he asked the court to "determine a fair and equitable amount."
