Former CNN anchor Don Lemon is set to tie the knot with his long-time partner, New York realtor Tim Malone, this weekend in New York City.
The couple, who announced their engagement in 2019, will exchange vows in an intimate ceremony on Saturday after postponing their wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Don Lemon, Tim Malone to Forge Ahead with Wedding
Lemon, 58, and Malone, 39, began dating in 2016 and got engaged in a memorable moment involving their two dogs.
Lemon shared the proposal story on Instagram, revealing how Malone popped the question with the help of their pets.
"He gave me a present on his birthday. How could I say no?" Lemon wrote alongside photos of dog collars that read "Daddy Will You Marry Papa?" around the necks of their beloved pets.
The couple's journey to marriage has been marked by public support and shared milestones.
Lemon, who publicly came out as gay in 2011, has spoken openly about his relationship with Malone and their plans for the future, including starting a family.
"We're thinking about, do we want to adopt, do we want to go through surrogacy, how we want to do it," Lemon shared in a previous interview with People. "Tim is definitely going to have to be the one to have the kid because he's younger. His body will bounce back."
Don Lemon-Elon Musk Tensions
The upcoming wedding comes after Lemon's departure from CNN in 2023, following 17 years with the network.
Recently, Lemon famously experienced tension with Elon Musk after the abrupt cancellation of "The Don Lemon Show" X deal following a heated interview with the Tesla CEO.
Additionally, reports surfaced about Lemon's diva-like demands during negotiations with the tech mogul's media venture. Lemon's response to these allegations was, "People negotiate all the time."
Despite facing challenges and changes in his career, Lemon has remained committed to his relationship with Malone, who has stood by his side through it all.
As the couple prepares to say "I do," they look forward to celebrating with close friends and family members. The wedding festivities will take place at the Polo Bar, where celebrity guests, including legendary music producer Clive Davis, are expected to attend, according to US Weekly.
