A magnitude 4.7 earthquake in New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut rattled establishments and houses.
The US Geological Survey announced that the rare earthquake happened near Lebanon, New Jersey, on Friday, Apr. 5, at around 10:23 a.m.

According to CNBC's latest report, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul tweeted about the rare earthquake that struck the tri-state area on Friday morning.
"A 4.8 magnitude earthquake hit west of Manhattan and has been felt throughout New York," she said via her official Twitter announcement.
The NY governor added that her team started assessing the impacts to see the damages that may have occurred because of the earthquake. She told the public that an update would be provided throughout the day.
