On Monday, Microsoft announced that its Bing Ads was now available in Australia and New Zealand. David Pann, Microsoft Advertising Search Group's general manager, said that the click volume increased by 25% from last year. During that time, around 1,000 platform features and enhancements were done to Bing Ads.
In the second quarter, Microsoft's revenue was US$19.9 billion. For fiscal 2013, the company brought in US$77.8 billion. Also, during the first few days of July, Microsoft released some statistics regarding Bing Ads and Yahoo Bing Network. The stats showed that the network registered 159 million distinct searchers. 51 million searchers from the said figure were not using Google. The company added that the searchers came from 25 international markets.
"This continues our expansion across the globe, and we're very excited to provide our services to 5.5 million Australians every month, of which 3 million are unique to Bing Ads in Australia and New Zealand," Microsoft's Chris Wallington said in the statement today. "The Australian audience searching for goods and services on Bing typically spends 5% more than the average searcher, providing advertisers with an opportunity to tap into a lucrative consumer base with a high propensity to buy."
