A lucky single father in Nebraska recently scored a $1 million Mega Millions lottery win while grabbing a salad, according to officials.
"I don't play all that often. As a single parent, bologna is more important, financially," Brant Edgington said.

According to USA Today, Edgington shared that he rarely participates in the lottery but made a spontaneous decision to try his luck, and it turned out to be a wise choice.
Despite his family's enthusiasm for playing the lottery, Edgington mentioned that he only joins in when the jackpot reaches a substantial amount and wasn't planning on purchasing a ticket that time.
During his visit to Baker's grocery store in Fremont to buy a premade salad for lunch, Edgington noticed another individual ahead of him who was cashing in a large stack of scratch tickets. Despite this, he made the choice to patiently wait his turn.
While there, he made the spontaneous decision to play the Mega Millions for the March 22 drawing, as reported by the Nebraska Lottery.
Upon his return to the store, he approached a clerk for assistance in verifying his ticket, and to his surprise, he discovered that he was the lucky winner.

The ticket included five quick pick plays for the March 22 drawing, with one of them matching all five winning numbers (03, 08, 31, 35, 44). Edgington won and collected his well-deserved prize at the Nebraska Lottery office in Lincoln last Friday (April 5).
Tickets are available for purchase at various locations, including gas stations, convenience stores, and grocery stores. It is worth noting that lottery tickets can sometimes be found at certain airport terminals.
Mega Millions states that the chances of winning $1 million in the game are quite slim, with odds of 1 in 12,607,306. Additionally, the overall odds of winning any prize are 1 in 24.
