Not the First Time for Tesla
This is not the first time that Tesla topped a brand loyalty survey. In 2020, Forbes reported that the giant EV maker also became the no. 1 brand in Experian Automotive's brand loyalty survey.
Honda, Ford, and Toyota followed Tesla. Experian's senior automotive industry consultant, Marty Miller, explained why brand loyalty is a big deal in the automotive industry.
"Vehicle loyalty is a metric to measure the devotion of your customers," he said.
Usually, brand loyalty doesn't need to be the same model. Consumers need to buy a new vehicle from the same brand they currently have.
When an automaker has a high brand retention rate, this means that consumers trust its brand. These buyers can even encourage other potential customers to buy from their trusted brand.
