Lunch with Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff will soon be auctioned. The virtual auction will be conducted by the San Francisco-based nonprofit The Glide Foundation.

This was confirmed on Tuesday, April 9. The Glide Foundation said that an auction will be conducted on eBay and the winner will have a private lunch with the billionaire.

The Glide Foundation's announcement comes after it was confirmed that billionaire philanthropist Warren Edward Buffett has left the table.

Luckily, the nonprofit organization, which aims to feed the homeless, found a new business executive to auction off a meal with.

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff also shared his excitement, saying that he'll gladly continue what Warren Buffett has started.

"I'm humbled to continue my friend @WarrenBuffett's legacy w/ the Power of One Charity Lunch," said the billionaire Salesforce chairman via Fox Business.

"Thank you to @GLIDEsf for their great work to support our amazing city of SF. And I'll always be grateful for the passion of Susie Buffett and leadership of Warren & Reverend Cecil Williams," he added.

Marc Benioff Lunch Auction

According to CBS News' latest report, the Benioff lunch auction will be quite similar to Warren Buffett's previous lunch auctions.

The Benioff lunch auction will last for a week, which will start on May 5 and end on June 10. It will have an opening bid of $25,000.

The lucky winner will get a "memorable lunch for eight" with the Salesforce CEO. But, they could get more than that.

Previously, Ted Weschler, a past winner of the Warren Buffett lunch auction, was offered a job at the philanthropist's company. Although he spent nearly $5.3 million on two auctions, it was all worth it since he now works as an investment manager for the conglomerate.
