Several major Arab airlines have been forced to cancel their flight schedules in response to Iran's recent strikes on Israel, which involved the launch of numerous drones and missiles over the weekend.
Major Arab Airlines Cancel Flights
According to The Economic Times, Emirates Airlines, for instance, has decided to cancel certain flights through Saturday night into Sunday, while Etihad Airways suspended services to Tel Aviv and Amman on Sunday.
According to a statement from the United Arab Emirates' Fly Dubai sent to state news agency WAM, they also experienced disruptions due to the temporary closure of several airspaces in the region.
The ripple effect of these attacks has been felt across the Middle East, prompting other airlines in Lebanon, Egypt, and Kuwait also to announce flight cancellations and reroutings.
Retaliatory Strikes of Iran Against Israel
The Economic Times reported that major airlines across the Middle East, including Israeli airlines, returned to normal operations on Sunday, as Israel reopened its airspace at 7:30 a.m. (0430 GMT).
These delays followed Iran's retaliatory strikes against Israel, which occurred in response to a suspected Israeli attack that resulted in the deaths of several top Iranian commanders in Damascus, Syria, on April 1.
According to CBC, explosions and warning sirens reverberated throughout Israel in the early hours of Sunday as a series of drones and ballistic missiles were unleashed by Iran.
