Women's digital media brand YouBeauty raised US $8.6 million after the close of a series A-1 funding. Contour Venture Partners, the company's existing investor, led the round together with private equity fund MainLine Special Opportunities Fund.
In a company statement, YouBeauty said the proceeds of the recent funding will be used to create more data-driven advertising tools for its advertisers. Also, the amount will be used to finance customized services for its clients.
"We believe building a data-driven conversation with an audience of millennial women presents a number of ways to personalize the reader experience and better serve our brand clients with a variety of solutions to deeply connect with their audience in a targeted way, with trust and at scale," said YouBeauty's CEO and co-founder Steven Lindseth.
Recently, the brand re-designed its website, YouBeauty.com. The science-based quizzes found in the site have been scrutinized by industry experts inluding Dr. Michael Roizen and Dr. Mehmet Oz.
