Qualcomm Ventures and Nokia Growth Partners are Grand Cru's newest investors as it had raised a total of EUR 8.5 million (USD 11 million) at the close of its most recent Series A funding round. The Finnish game developer has now gathered a total of EUR 12.5 million (USD 16 million) from also its lead investor Idinvest Partners and from the two new partners.
In the last 15 months, the Helsinki-based developer won numerous awards for its mobile game Supernauts. Wired Magazine also called them as one of the hottest startups in Europe. Idinvest Partner Guillaume Lautour said they have supported Grand Cru from its inception. "The exceptional quality of the team led us to confirm our long-term commitment to help Markus Pasula build a world-class studio," he added.
Grand Cru co-founder and CEO Markus Pasula, meanwhile, is excited about the release of its recent game with its first title. "Our soon-to-be-released first title, Supernauts, is a mass-market world-building game for iOS that is truly social, allowing players to solve puzzles and create shareable worlds, brick-by-brick," he said.
