Donald Trump Slams Joe Biden Over Economy, 'Bidenomics' Before Entering the Courtroom For Hush Money Trial

According to Fox News, Donald Trump expressed concern about the state of the economy under Joe Biden, citing the GDP growth rate that was reportedly at 1.6% for the first quarter, a figure he described as surprisingly low and indicative of a downward trend. He also highlighted the increasing gas prices in California.

"It's going to get worse. Gas prices in California were just also announced at $7.60. Gasoline is going way up," the former president said before heading into the courtroom Thursday morning.

"Energy costs are going way up and the stock market is, in a sense, crashing... This is Bidenomics. It's catching up with them," he added.

Trump maintained that the current administration's policies were responsible for the economic slowdown and other related problems.

"This is the worst run country right now, probably anywhere, just about. You don't get much worse... We have a president who is the worst president in the history of our country," the former president said.

Donald Trump Sets His Sights on Winning New York

Donald Trump also appeared optimistic about his prospects in the upcoming presidential election, especially in liberal states like New York.

He touted several campaign rallies he's planning to hold in New York City, including in South Bronx and Madison Square Garden. He also mentioned his intentions to hold rallies honoring first responders and educators.

"I think we have a good chance of winning New York. We're going to give it a big play... We're gonna have a big rally honoring the police and honoring the firemen and everybody. Honoring a lot of people, including teachers," Trump noted.

The former president is facing 34 counts of falsifying business records in connection to the hush money payment to adult film actress Stormy Daniels. Trump is accused of orchestrating a criminal scheme to hide the reimbursement of the $130,000 hush money payment made by his former lawyer, Michael Cohen, to Daniels.

Cohen allegedly arranged the payment days leading up to the 2016 election to silence the porn star about a sexual encounter she said she had with Trump in 2006.

Trump, who has denied the sexual encounter and pleaded not guilty to 34 counts of falsifying business records, is facing his second week in Manhattan court this week for the ongoing hush money trial.
