A new concern arose from Taiwanese smartphone retailers today. While giant tech firms spend time, finances and assets to develop the fancy 8-core system for smartphones, vendors noted that the 8-core itself overpowered the bestselling quad-core units.
The retailers explained that these 8-core platforms should not beat quad-core solutions, according to observers in the Taiwanese handset supply industry. The total performance and ergonomics of the quad-core should stand firm against 8-core, the vendors said.
This is the reason why most vendors in Taiwan did not push through with selling Samsung Galaxy S4 units with 8-core segments. Samsung, Korea's largest technology manufacturer, recently developed the Exynos 5 Octa CPU which offer 8-core systems to smartphones.
According to sources, other companies were also wary of the 8-core technology in smartphones. HiSilicon, which will release their first 8-core central processing units later this year, will have no impact on the smartphone solution market according to analysts.Sources said that 8-core solutions might click in today's market, but quad-core devices will reign supreme for at least one or two more years. According to analysts, phones such as the iPhone 5 and Samsung Galaxy S4 which operate on quad core components will still comprise over 85% of the smartphone market.
