Elon Musk Allegedly Starting Revoking Tesla Summer Interns

According to Gizmodo's latest report, Elon Musk's ongoing Tesla cost-cutting efforts are now starting to target summer interns. Various college students shared their experiences on LinkedIn after receiving a disappointing update from the EV maker.

"I will no longer be interning at Tesla this summer. After a single phone call of less than two minutes, my entire plan for this summer had vanished as if it had never even existed," said a North Carolina State University student who was supposed to be interning for Tesla via his official LinkedIn post.

Caught off guard in the midst of finals, another student was blindsided by a message from Tesla, abruptly informing him that his summer internship had been rescinded.

Elon Musk Ruins Tesla Interns' Summer Plans

Business Insider reported that the billionaire has been revoking many summer interns for Tesla less than a month before their start days. Some even got revoked three weeks before joining the EV company.

As a result, many college students were thrust into a scramble to secure new internships for the summer. Overwhelmed and disheartened, they turned their frustration towards Elon Musk, accusing the Tesla CEO of dashing their summer dreams.

In April, the billionaire terminated over 10% of its Tesla workforce. However, Elon Musk confirmed that he isn't done making layoffs.
