A Florida man has filed a lawsuit against Publix, CVS Pharmacy, and Costco pharmacies, along with their respective pharmacists, alleging that Adderall prescriptions from these pharmacies led to a severe psychotic episode. Robert Buckley, the plaintiff in the case, claims that the Adderall prescriptions caused him to overdose, resulting in psychosis and other permanent injuries, Fox Business reported. According to the lawsuit filed in Orange County, Buckley alleges that the pharmacies dispensed an incorrect drug strength that was "clearly dangerous to the patient." Allegations of Negligence The lawsuit, filed on Wednesday, outlines Buckley's claims of negligence on the part of the pharmacies and their pharmacists. Buckley alleges that he was over-medicated with Adderall. He claims that the incorrect prescription led to a range of serious consequences for Buckley, including false imprisonment, seizures, and ongoing mental and physical suffering. Records indicate that his prescriptions were filled at CVS in Orlando, Costco in Winter Park, and Publix locations in Orlando, Oviedo, and Casselberry, according to Click Orlando. Demand for Damages Buckley is seeking judgment for damages against each company and costs associated with the lawsuit. To address the alleged harm that the Adderall prescriptions caused, he is also requesting a jury trial. The lawsuit states that Buckley will incur significant medical bills, hospital costs, and related expenses due to his injuries now and in the future. Moreover, the lawsuit contends that Buckley experienced injuries and significant "mental anguish." The lawsuit is pursuing damages exceeding $50,000.
