The state of Hawaii has been celebrating its local teachers as part of Teacher Appreciation Week, which will end Friday (May 10).
In appreciation, the Hawaii State Teachers Association (HSTA) announced that several local branches of food chains across the archipelago state are offering discounts and deals for teachers until Friday.
Discounts for Teachers
The following are some of the deals for teachers, as listed by local network KITV:
Jamba Hawaii will provide free oatmeal and a complementary topping for every order taken before 11:00 local time (21:00 UTC). The deal is limited to one free serving per customer, and teachers should present a valid school ID or pay stub.
McDonald's will also give teachers a free medium hot or iced coffee and two chocolate chip cookies when they present a valid school ID or paystub. The deal is only available at the drive-through or the front counter. Teachers are also encouraged to tag McDonald's Hawaii's Instagram account on their photos.
Meanwhile, Dunkin' will give teachers a free classic donut and a small hot coffee at its locations in Kapolei, Pearl City, Pearlridge/Aiea, the University of Hawaii Manoa, and 3270 Ualena Street, all on the island of Oahu. Teachers must show a valid school ID or paystub, and the offer is limited to one per day per person.

Non-Food Discounts
More than food, local retailer Fisher Hawaii invites teachers to sign up for the free TeacherPlus program to save 10% of all regularly-priced items on in-store purchases. Any purchases made by TeacherPlus members would also be automatically entered in a raffle to win a $100 Fisher Hawaii gift card.
On Saturday (May 11), TeacherPlus members shopping at the retailer's Mapunapuna and Kaka'ako locations would receive 20% off of their in-store purchases.
Local clothing line Eden in Love will also provide 30% off of all purchases on its website this week when teachers use the code TEACHWITHALOHA30 at checkout.
Discounts are listed on the We Are Teachers website for this year's celebration for the rest of the United States.
