Users' Google accounts have a hidden feature that allows the tech giant to discreetly record their voices and store them for various purposes.

Google's Audio Data Collection and Privacy Concerns

Google stores audio recordings from web and app activity, as well as verbal interactions with Search, Assistant, as well as Maps.

These recordings are used to enhance and refine its audio recognition technologies. Recently, a tech expert shared a method that supposedly prevents Google from recording your smartphone activity, Daily Mail reported.

According to a digital expert, managing your Google account and adjusting settings in 'Data and Privacy' can prevent the tech company from accessing your microphone and camera.

Jeffrey Castillo, a tech entrepreneur, recently shared a helpful tip on Instagram. He explained that users have the option to disable this feature by accessing the Google app and selecting 'Manage your Google account.'

Rest assured that your private chats will always remain confidential and secure.

However, Google has acknowledged the existence of a team that listens to snippets of saved audio in order to enhance voice search functionality.

Disable Google's Audio Recording Feature: A Quick Guide

Utilizing your phone for navigation and conversing with your smart speaker can be quite convenient.

However, if you have concerns about Google's potential eavesdropping, there is a straightforward method to disable these features.

To access the necessary features, simply navigate to the Google app on your phone and select the account icon located in the top corner of the screen.

Next, navigate to Manage Google Account and select Data and Privacy. Please navigate to the Web & App Activity section and disable the option to include voice and audio activity.

According to Mirror, by disabling this voice and audio activity setting, Google will no longer store audio recordings in your Google Account on their servers along with your Web & App Activity when you engage with Google Search, Assistant, and Maps.

According to Google, they will continue to process your audio to provide responses when you interact with their services.

Additionally, it is important to mention that when this feature is disabled, Google will not utilize any previously recorded audio to enhance its voice technologies, such as Voice Match.
