Elon Musk vs. Mark Zuckerberg
Elon Musk's latest proposed fight with Mark Zuckerberg further underscores the longstanding rivalry between the two wealthiest men in the world. The rivalry between Musk and Zuckerberg is well-known.
Beyond their financial standings, Musk and Zuckerberg have been engaged in a public spat for years. Their rivalry dates back to 2016 when a SpaceX mishap destroyed a Facebook satellite.
It further intensified when Meta launched Threads, a social media platform that became a rival to Musk's X. The two arch-rival billionaires even traded barbs last year about a potential cage fight.
Last June, Musk challenged Zuckerberg to a cage match amid rumors of Meta launching Threads. The Meta CEO responded via an Instagram story, saying, "Send Me Location." However, the fight did not happen despite all the trash talk.
In August, Musk said the cage fight, which could be live-streamed on their respective platforms, would happen in an "epic location" in "ancient Rome." The X owner further noted that the UFC will not manage the fight since it will be handled by his and Zuckerberg's foundations.
However, Zuckerberg said Musk did not clarify when they were scheduled to fight in the ring. He also urged the public not to believe Musk regarding their fight, adding that he would share the details of his next fight when he's ready.
Musk then deemed it a sign of reluctance and cowardice, even calling Zuckerberg "a chicken." Eventually, the two billionaires cited health issues as reasons for the delays, with Musk disclosing a shoulder injury while Zuckerberg mentioned an ACL tear.
Last Sunday, Musk criticized Meta for engaging in "super greedy" advertising practices, adding fuel to his ongoing rivalry with Zuckerberg.
