Former President Donald Trump has once again criticized President Joe Biden's handling of inflation, pointing to the shrinking size of Snickers bars as an example of his rival's economic mismanagement and not "shrinkflation."
Donald Trump Says Joe Biden' Out of Touch'
In a series of posts on Truth Social late Friday night, Donald Trump ridiculed Joe Biden's claim that corporate greed is largely to blame for high prices.
Trump suggested that Biden's assertion that Americans can afford the inflation tax is "out of touch." He referred to the president's recent interview in which Biden mentioned that families have the money to spend despite inflation.
Trump mocked this statement, arguing that Americans are struggling financially not because of indulgences like Snickers bars but because of broader economic issues under the Biden administration.
Trump reiterated that Biden was the most incompetent and corrupt president in US history, asserting that Americans' economic difficulties result from poor leadership.
Joe Biden on Shrinkflation
Donald Trump's comments were in response to Joe Biden's interview with CNN, in which the president addressed the concept of "shrinkflation"-the practice of reducing product sizes while maintaining prices.
Biden cited Snickers as an example of "shrinkflation." The president noted that his administration is working on holding corporations accountable for such practices to alleviate the burden on consumers. Trump, however, remains critical, framing the issue as a sign of more extensive economic failures under Biden's tenure.
"Despite what Biden says, the American People CANNOT afford his inflation nightmare-and we DEFINITELY cannot afford four more years of Crooked Joe Biden!," the former president wrote in Truth Social.
