Live Nation Confirms Massive Ticketmaster Data Breach
Live Nation disclosed that on May 20, unauthorized activity was detected within a third-party cloud database containing data primarily from Ticketmaster. On May 27, the company said a criminal group had offered what it claimed to be "company user data for sale via the dark web."
The compromised data reportedly includes sensitive information such as names, addresses, phone numbers, and partial credit card details. The hacking group ShinyHunters is reportedly selling the stolen data for $500,000.
Australia Initiates a Probe Into Hacking Claims
Live Nation said it is evaluating the risks to its users and is collaborating with law enforcement and regulatory authorities. Currently, the company noted that the breach has not affected its business operations and is unlikely to impact its financial condition.
Australian authorities have already initiated an investigation into ShinyHunters' claims that that they have stolen the details of 560 million customers from Ticketmaster.
The investigation seeks to determine the scope of the breach and evaluate the potential risks to millions of global customers whose sensitive information may have been compromised.
