AMD unveiled new artificial intelligence (AI) processors on Monday, June 3, in an effort to dominate the competitive market.

According to CEO Lisa Su, who made the announcement at the Computex tech conference in Taiwan, AI is at the forefront of their priorities. She pointed out how AI is revolutionizing almost every industry, enhancing people's daily lives, and reshaping the computing market.

New AI Chips Revealed

The Ryzen AI 300 series, designed for next-generation AI laptops, was introduced by Su at a keynote speech in Taipei, as reported by CNBC. These processors will power laptops that have Microsoft's AI chatbot Copilot installed.

This series may go head-to-head with rivals like Qualcomm's Snapdragon X and Intel's upcoming Lunar Lake.

In addition, Su unveiled the new desktop Ryzen 9000 series, praising them as "the world's fastest consumer PC processors" for video games and other creative endeavors.

The anticipated debut dates for both lines are July.

This is another of AMD's recent announcements on AI-capable processors. In April, the firm introduced the Ryzen Pro 8040 laptop and the Ryzen Pro 8000 desktop.

Enhanced versions of the MI300 series, the Instinct MI325X accelerators, were shown on Monday as part of AMD's data center chip roadmap. The company plans to release these in the fourth quarter. In 2025, the Instinct MI350 series, which will be constructed using next-gen architecture, is scheduled for delivery. In 2026, the Instinct MI400 series is slated for release.

On Monday, Su also gave a sneak peek at AMD's upcoming fifth-generation EPYC server chips, which will maintain the EPYC family's leadership in performance and efficiency when released in the second half of this year.

The recent Zen 5 architecture will support the next Ryzen AI 300, Ryzen 9000, and 5th-generation EPYC processors.
