TikTok has implemented measures to thwart a cyberattack aimed at various brands as well as celebrity accounts, including CNN, according to a company spokesperson.

TikTok Assures Active Restoration Efforts

TikTok has assured that the number of compromised accounts is minimal and they are actively collaborating with affected account owners to restore access, if necessary.

There has been a breach in the account of the cable news channel CNN, as confirmed by the company. However, the spokesperson has chosen not to reveal the complete list of accounts that were targeted or compromised.

According to a source at TikTok, the account of reality TV star Paris Hilton was reportedly targeted, but fortunately, it has not been compromised.

ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, is currently engaged in a legal battle against a law that mandates the sale of TikTok by next January or else face a ban in the country, Reuters reported.

The White House expressed concerns about Chinese-based ownership and its potential impact on national security.

TikTok has emphasized its commitment to safeguarding the privacy of its users and ensuring that US user data remains secure.
